Congratulations are in order for Mr. and Mrs. Rao! Bollywood actor Rajkummar Rao and his ladylove Patralekhaa tied the knot on November 15 in a day ceremony. After dating for 11 years, the couple exchanged vows in a dreamy destination wedding in New Chandigarh’s The Oberoi Sukhvilas Spa Resort. They had a traditional Hindu wedding and we can’t help but fall in love with their stunning looks and photographs which are full of love, royalty and laughter.
For their destination wedding, Rajkummar chose to wear a beige silk kurta and churidar while Patralekhaa looked absolutely gorgeous in a beautiful Sabysachi saree with a very pretty embroidered veil on her head, inscribed with a Bengali verse. It read: "Aamar poran bhora bhalobasha aami tomaye shomorpon korilam," which translates to: "I give to you my soul filled with love." Rajkummar paired his kurta with an embroidered raw silk ivory jacket that has gold plated Bengal tiger buttons and handcrafted Sabyasachi heritage jewellery in strands of cultured Japanese pearls.
On the other hand, Patralekhaa, who comes from a Bengali family, opted for handcrafted heritage jewellery in '22k gold with uncut diamonds, pearls and emeralds,' also by Sabyasachi. Their destination wedding pictures are indeed straight out of a fairytale and has sent the Internet into a meltdown.
Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa's wedding had one more thing to notice- the marigold-decorated mandap and Jaimalas. The wedding was a traditional affair with only their family members and close friends in attendance. Well, Rajkummar Rao's Instagram caption with which he uploaded their wedding photographs just stole our hearts. Sharing photos from the wedding, he wrote, “Finally after 11 years of love, romance, friendship and fun, I got married to my everything today, my soulmate, my best friend, my family. Today there is no greater happiness for me than being called your husband @patralekhaa. Here’s to forever .. and beyond”.
After the big fat dreamy wedding, Rajkummar Rao and Patralekhaa also hosted a grand reception in Chandigarh. For the occasion, Patralekhaa looked every bit of gorgeous in a cream silk saree again by Sabyasachi. She completed her royal reception look with heavy jewellery and hair tied neatly in a bun. Rajkummar looked dashing in a black tuxedo.
